The past month has been incredibly busy and thrilling for SA Breeders, with no fewer than 37 entries in Stakes and Group races throughout the Racing SA Sportsbet Adelaide Racing Carnival.
Among these entries, several remarkable outcomes deserve mention:
THE SA BRED TRIFECTA
SANGSTER STAKES DAY
Sangster Stakes Day - Watchme Win, bred by Harry Perks of Toorak Thoroughbred Breeding Trust, clinched victory in the Group 3 John Hawkes Stakes. Notably, all SA Bred horses secured places in this race with Volcanic Express and Press Down placing 2nd and 3rd.
SA DERBY DAY
SA Derby - Sir Kingsford, bred by Ian Millen, triumphed in the HKJC World Pool Port Adelaide Cup, a listed race spanning 2500 metres. This Sir Prancealot gelding has achieved 10 race wins so far, with a significant streak of victories in his last three races.
GOODWOOD STAKES DAY
Goodwood Stakes Day - On the final day of the Carnival, while Reserve Bank, guided by Jamie Melham, delivered an impressive win—as she did the previous year with SA Bred Benedetta, Sir Sway, a locally bred horse, finished a commendable second. This outstanding performance came from the mother-son training duo, Sue and Jason Jaensch. Sir Sway, a son of Sir Prancealot, bred by Bruce Jaensch, has won an impressive 8 races from 18 starts, earning his place in this competitive field with a determined effort in the listed Railway Stakes at Oakbank over Easter.
