SA racing enthusiasts will be focused on three high quality SA bred gallopers in this Saturdays exciting rendition of the classic 3yo feature race at Flemington the $1,000,000 Australian Guineas over 1600m.
The trio include current favourite and impressive first up winner Angel Capital (Harry Angel – Bahamas, by Teofilo)
The Clinton McDonald trained galloper, bred by the effervescent and very astute breeder SA Hall of Famer David Peacock was recently purchased by Yulong Stud as a potential Stallion prospect.
Angel Capital was sold by SA’s nursery of champions Mill Park at the 2023 Inglis Melbourne Premier yearling sale for $400,000 to successful Hong Kong based industry investors Upper Bloodstock.
Point And Shoot (Blue Point – Watchmespin, by Sepoy) bred by another SA Hall of Famer Harry Perks and the Toorak Thoroughbred Breeding venture is a late challenger with the Bjorn Baker-trained colt Point And Shoot recently confirmed for the $1 million classic after impressive victories in his past two races at Randwick in restricted grade.
Point And Shoot showed enough early career ability he may be a contender for the 3yo Classic race, after trainer Bjorn Baker thought highly enough of him as a yearling to outlay $240,000 to secure him at the 2023 Inglis Melbourne Premier yearling sale
Reigning 2024 VRC Derby winner Gold Rush Guru trained by Andrew Gluyas (American Pharoah - Glam Guru) rounds out the SA Bred trio and provides Harry Perks with his second runner in the Classic.
Good luck to all SA bred runners, breeders and owners.
