President: |
Mr Graham Ingerson
|
 |
Graham is an avid
racehorse owner and breeder. Graham comes with an amazing amount of
experience in Parliament. A former Deputy Premier of South
Australia, Ingerson was instrumental for the introduction of the
South Australian Breeders' Incentive Scheme (SABIS) as well as being
the driving force behind the introduction of legislation to
restructure the local racing industry by creating the Racing
Industry Development Authority (RIDA). More recently Ingerson's love
and passion for the thoroughbred has blossomed and he is now a
successful thoroughbred breeder and racehorse owner. Graham is the
current President of the South Australian Thoroughbred Breeders
Association.

Mr
Ralph
Satchell
|
 |
Ralph along
with wife Linda established the successful breeding concern Willow
Grove Stud in 1979. Nestled in the lush Onkaparinga Valley between
Oakbank and Woodside, Willow Grove has been home to several
stallions including current residents Centre Stalls and Mugharreb. A
great supporter of the local industry Satchell has sold literally
hundreds of individual winners and always has a number of horses
racing in partnerships. "South Australia has recently had some well
credentialed young sires go to stud. Hopefully this trend can
continue. It is of course dependant on support from local
breeders. Certainly send some of your mares interstate, but try and
support the local industry and in turn raise the profile of the
South Australian bred," Ralph says.

to the SATB significant management and marketing expertise gained
through nearly 20 years experience in commodity trading and senior

Mr
Robert Dinham |
 |
Bob Dinham
has been breeding horse for 20 years and has been a member of the SA
Thoroughbred Breeders Association for most of that time. He has been
associated with the breeding of some nice horses with Peter and
Serena Watson at Mill Park, Meningie, including Blessum, Divine
Madonna, Maduro, Pieta, Regencia, Delargo Moon and Amenort which he
also raced in partnership with friends. Having recently retired from
full time work, following a banking career, he now has the time for
commitment to the Industry that has given him so much enjoyment. Bob
would be pleased to serve on the committee with an eye to the needs
of all breeders but especially small players like himself with small
bands of mares. Bob’s main areas of concern would be maintaining
costs for breeders, lifting the profile of the South Australian
product and the improvement of member services and related benefits.

Dr Campbell Baker
|
 |
One of the country’s most sought out and
respected veterinarian surgeons, Campbell Baker adds a great deal of
knowledge and expertise to the committee. A breeder of a number of
handy performers including Broann and Clearly Supreme, Baker is
trusted as the chief veterinarian of the famed Lindsay Park Stud. He
is keen to make sure South Australian breeders are aware there is
plenty of competition from around the country. “The South Australian
breeding industry is essentially part of the Australian breeding
industry and breeders have to be aware they need to compete on the
national scale. To do this they need to maximise the advantage of
South Australia (economical, geographical etc).” Baker also adds
local industry participants need to be continually upgrading.
“Locals need to be aware of the need to be continually upgrading
their stock.”
